Need Local Business Info Fast? Here’s How Apple Maps on the iPhone Helps!
Using Apple Maps to Look Up Local Information
Most people think of the Maps app as a way to get from one place to another. While that’s certainly true, there’s another very useful side to Apple Maps that often goes unnoticed. It can also help you find valuable information about local businesses. Whether it’s checking business hours, viewing a restaurant’s menu, or finding a phone number, Maps can quickly show the details you need—all without leaving the app.
Searching for a Business
To get started, open the Maps app on your iPhone. From there, use the search field to look up a business or location. For example, if you want to check the hours for a restaurant, just type the name into the search bar. Once you tap on the correct result, Maps will bring up the business’s profile. You’ll be able to access helpful details quickly and clearly.
Viewing Useful Details
When you select a business in Apple Maps, it often provides a surprising amount of helpful information. You can see the hours of operation, browse the restaurant’s menu if one is available, and even find the phone number if you want to call ahead. All of this is conveniently listed in one place, making it easier to plan your visit or get the answers you need without having to search through websites or make extra calls.
Saving Locations with the Library
Apple Maps also offers a feature called the Library. This section lets you keep track of places you’ve marked, saved, or want to visit again. Whether it’s a favorite coffee shop, a new restaurant, or a doctor’s office, you can add it to your collection for easy access later. Your saved locations are always available in the Library, so you don’t have to search for them again.
Exploring with Guides
Another helpful feature is Guides. Apple Maps offers curated collections of interesting places within a city or area. These can include top dining spots, attractions, shopping areas, and more. If you’re exploring a new city—or even rediscovering your own—Guides can suggest popular places and make it easier to plan your day. It’s a simple way to explore with confidence.
Using Maps for Hiking Locations
Apple Maps can also be a useful tool when looking for outdoor spaces and hiking spots. You can search for trails, parks, or nature areas, and the app will display them with useful information such as names, locations, and how to get there. It’s a convenient way to discover new walking or hiking areas nearby, whether you’re planning a short stroll or a day out in nature.
A Smarter Way to Use Maps
Even if you don’t need directions, Apple Maps can still be a helpful tool. Using it to gather information about local spots, save favorite locations, explore new areas, or find outdoor spaces makes it much more than just a navigation app. It becomes a reliable way to stay informed, organized, and connected to the world around you.
