View and Copy Wi-Fi Passwords and Delete Known Networks on your iPhone

In this video, we’re going to look at how we can look up passwords, Wi Fi passwords to networks that we’ve connected to their iPhone, as well as how we can see all of our known networks and remove those networks from our iPhone. This was introduced with iOS 16. Let’s take a look at our network passwords and how we can remove no networks from our iPhone. Let’s go to my iPhone. Let’s first look at how we can look up a password for our current network.

To do that, what we need to do is we go down to our settings app. From here, what we do is we go to our network settings, which is where we have Wi Fi. From here, what we do is we go over to the eye, this is the network that I’m currently connected to no boom, well, if I tap on the eye, I can see different information. This is nothing new, I tap on the eye. And now what I’m able to do is see different information here, I can put it into low data mode, I can put it into private Wi Fi address, I can even see what the Wi Fi addresses the Mac address here. But also in addition to that, what we’re now able to do is look up this password, you weren’t able to do this in the past, all you have to do is just tap on this. And when you tap on it, it’s going to show the password and then it’s also going to give the option to copy it. So let’s go ahead and tap on it.

And now we can see what the password is. And what I’m able to do is copy it. So that’s how we can easily look up a current Wi Fi password password to a current network. Now in addition to that, what we’re also able to do is look up our past networks that we’ve connected to and remove those networks, as well as look up the passwords for those networks, we could always do this on the Mac, but we couldn’t do this on the iPhone or the iPad. So I’m going to go back to Wi Fi here, you’re going to see when I’m looking at my network settings here, I can go and connect to another network. But also in the upper right hand corner, we have edit, this is what is new, when I tap on Edit, what I’m able to do is a few of my past networks.

Now this is a demo phone. So it doesn’t have a lot here. But if I were to use this on my personal phone, which is connected to a lot of networks, this list would be quite long. So from here, what I’m able to do is remove them. So let’s say I no longer need this network for the Apple Store, all I have to do is just tap on the red circle there, and it’ll remove it. But what about the password, maybe you want to look that password up? Well, all you have to do is just go over to the eye here and you can look it up. Now this one here is a public network, there’s no lock here. So I’m not going to be able to look up the password because he didn’t have one. But let’s go over to this apple network.

This is a network that I connected up to, I want to look up the password for all I have to do is just tap on the eye here. And then you’re going to see I have password here. And if I tap on this, what I’m able to do is view that password. And from here what I’m able to do is copy that and then I could paste it into something else. I could send it to someone maybe you know someone that is not on an iPhone, so you can’t use the Share a password. What we can do now is text it to him. So that is how we can look up passwords for any of our networks that we’ve connected to including past networks, as well as remove any networks that we no longer want to store in our iPhone. Again, this was introduced in iOS 16. So if you’re using an older version of iOS, you will not be able to use this new feature
