Ready to Edit Your iOS 18 Control Center? Learn How Here!

Today, I’m excited to walk you through the new features and customization options available in the iOS 18 Control Center. Apple has completely revamped this feature, making it more versatile and user-friendly. Let’s dive in and explore how you can make the most out of it.

Accessing the Control Center

First, let’s access the Control Center. If you’re using an iPhone 14 like me, swipe down from the upper right-hand corner of your screen. This will bring up the Control Center where you can see all your current controls.

Entering Edit Mode

To customize your Control Center, you need to enter the edit mode. You have two options to do this:

  1. Tap the plus (+) icon in the upper left-hand corner.
  2. Long press in an empty area within the Control Center.

Once you’re in edit mode, you can start customizing.

Customizing Controls

Moving Controls:

To move a control, simply drag it to your desired location. For instance, if you frequently use the Low Power Mode, you might want to move it to the upper left-hand corner for easy access.

Resizing Controls:

Some controls come with a small bold arc in the lower right-hand corner. This indicates that the control can be resized. Just drag the arc to make the control larger or smaller based on your preference.

Removing Controls:

To remove a control, tap the minus (-) icon. You can remove all controls if you wish to start with a blank slate and add only the controls you need.

Adding Controls:

To add controls, scroll to the bottom of the Control Center and tap the option to add more controls. You can also search for specific controls using the search function. For example, if you want to add the screen recording control, type “screen recording” in the search bar, and then tap to add it.

Creating and Managing Multiple Control Screens

One of the exciting new features in iOS 18 is the ability to create multiple control screens. These work similarly to having multiple home screens but are dedicated to different sets of controls.

Adding a New Screen:

Swipe up from the bottom of the Control Center to reveal additional screens. You’ll notice small indicators or icons on the right side, showing you different control screens.

Grouping Controls:

You can group your controls into different screens for better organization. For example, you might have one screen for music controls, another for utility controls like a flashlight and calculator, and yet another blank screen to customize as you see fit.

Deleting a Screen:

To delete a screen, remove all the controls from that screen by tapping the minus (-) icons. Once all controls are removed, the screen will automatically disappear.

Wrapping Up

As you can see, customizing the Control Center in iOS 18 is straightforward and offers a lot of flexibility. Whether you want to resize controls, move them around, or create multiple control screens, iOS 18 makes it easy.

I hope you found this guide helpful. Don’t forget to explore these new features and make your iPhone work just the way you want it to.
