Quickly Switch Networks from the Control Center

In this video, I’m going to show you how you can easily switch networks through the Control Center on the iPhone. Let’s go to my iPhone.

Now, let’s say that your browsing the web; let’s open up Safari here; I’m browsing the web. I’m having a problem with the network. So what I want to do is I want to switch networks. Well, the way that we traditionally do this as we go back to our Settings app. So I swipe up from the bottom. Now what I do is I go to my Settings app. It’s on my second screen. So I swipe over to the left, I open up my Settings app, and then I go over to Wi-Fi here, and I select a new network. Once I select a new network, I swipe up from the bottom again. And then I go back over to Safari.

That is a lot of steps to switch networks. Well, there’s an easier way. We can do this through the Control Center. I’m using an iPhone 10. So I go to the upper right-hand corner, and I swipe down; I’m looking at my Control Center. Now, what I do is I go to my Network controls. Now I do not tap on any one of these controls. If I tap on it, it’s going to toggle it. In other words, I could turn my Bluetooth on or off; it could turn airplane mode on or off. That’s not what I want to do.

I want to switch networks. What I need to do is I need to long-press on this. So I long press on it or long-press on any one of the controls. It doesn’t matter; I just need to long-press on this area; I tap and hold or long-press, we have more options. Now, what I do is I tap and hold on my Network. When I tap and hold or long-press on, I’m able to switch networks. If I were to just tap on that icon, it would have turned it off. That’s not what I want to do. I want to switch networks. So now I can tap on a different network. Once I do that, I just tap outside here, and then I tap outside again. I close my Control Center. And now I’m going to be on my new network.

So let’s do that more quickly. Let’s say I wanted to change my network. I just go down from the upper right-hand corner to my Control Center. I long press, I long press again, I choose my new network, and then all I have to do is just close this, and I’m back in Safari. So you can see it’s a lot easier than going to the Settings app.

So that’s how we can easily switch networks on the iPhone. When we’re in an app, all we have to do is just go to our Control Center. We long-press on our Network Controls. From there, you just long-press on the Network Control, and then you’re going to be able to choose your network that you want to connect to. Once you do that, you close the Control Center, and your iPhone be connected to your new network.
