In this video, we’re going to look at how we can set a default mail app on the iPhone. This feature was introduced with iOS 14. Let’s go to my iPhone.

Now, if you’re familiar with setting up a default browser, setting up your default mail works the same way. The first thing we need to do is we need to download the app, the mail app that we want to use as our default mail client.

So I have Spark downloaded to my iPhone. I’m going to swipe over to the left, and if we look, I have Spark. This is a mail client that you can use instead of Mail here. Now, in order to set it up as your default mail client, what you need to do is you need to go to the Settings app. So I swipe back over, and I open up the Settings app. From here, I need to go to that app’s settings. So I need to go to Spark’s settings. So I swipe up until I find Spark. When I tap on this, you’re going to see an option for default mail app. And right now, to set up for Apple’s Mail. I tap on this, and I can change it to Spark. Once I change it to Spark, when I tap on an email address and Safari, or any other app, what it’ll do is it’ll open up Spark instead of the mail app.

From there, what I can even do is delete the Mail app, because I’m using Spark as my default mail app. So I swipe up, I go down to Mail here, and if you tap and hold, while you’re going to be able to do is remove the app. Now there is one catch to this, just like with setting up a default browser, Apple does have to approve that app to be a default mail app. So in my case here, Spark, Apple did approve that to be a default mail app. That’s why I’m able to select it as a default mail app.

So that’s how we set a default mail app on the iPhone. Again, the first thing we need to do is download the mail app that we want to use as our default mail app. We go over to the Settings app, find that specific app’s settings, and then you’ll see default mail app. Tap on that and change it to the mail app they want to use on your iPhone.

So that’s how you can set the default mail app on the iPhone.
