Low Data Mode

In this video, I’m going to show you how you can put your iPhone into Low Data Mode. With Low Data Mode, your iPhone will use less data. We can do this through cellular networks, and we can do it on Wi-Fi. Let’s take a look at Low Data Mode on the iPhone. Let’s go to my iPhone.

Let’s first look at how we can do this with a cellular network. If you’re running low on data and need to conserve data, what you may want to do is put your phone into Low Data Mode. To do that, we go to our Settings app. So I’m going to swipe over to the left and then open up my Settings app. Now, what we need to do is we need to go to Cellular. Under cellular, you’re going to see Cellular Data Options. I tap on it, and then we have Low Data Mode.

When we turn this on, what it’s going to do is it’s going to reduce cellular data. How do we do this? Well, it pauses any background tasks, such as photo syncing. So that’s Low Data Mode in cellular settings.

What about when you’re on a Wi-Fi network? Well, then what we need to do is we need to go to our network. Now I’m going to tap on Cellular, and then I’m going to go to Settings, and then we need to go to Wi-Fi. You can see I’m on my Noteboom network. To go into Low Data Mode in this network, we go over to the ‘i’ on the right. And then from here, you’re going to see Low Data Mode. Again, we just tap on the slider here, and our iPhone will use less data while we’re on a network or on that particular network, in my case, the Noteboom network.

So that’s how we can set our phone to use less data or go into Low Data Mode. We can do this on our cellular networks, as well as on Wi-Fi. We first have to go into Settings, and for cellular, you just go to the Cellular Settings, and then you go to Cellular Data Options. You’re going to see Low Data Mode once you go to those settings. With our network, we have to go to our network. And then we tap on the ‘i’ to get more information about that network, and then once again, you’re going to see Low Data Mode.

So that’s how we use Low Data Mode on the iPhone.
