Display Incoming Calls as a Banner or in Full Screen

In this video, I’m going to show you how you can display your incoming calls as either a banner or in full screen on the iPhone. Let’s go to my iPhone. Now, if you’ve been an iPhone user for awhile, you may recall that when you receive a phone call on the iPhone, what it used to do is take up the entire display.

You can see who is calling you. The image would take up the entire display on your iPhone. If you were within an app, you wouldn’t be in that app. You’d see who is calling from there. He could answer it or decline it. Well in recent versions of iOS, apple changed how that is. Now, what you get is a banner across the top of your iPhone here, showing who is calling, but you can still use the app.

So that way that phone call does not interrupt what you are doing. What you can do is change the behavior back to that full screen. If you no longer want to have the banner and you’d like to have. Phone take up the entire display. When you get a phone call, you can say your iPhone to do that. Like it used to do in older versions of iOS.

This is how I have my personal phone set. So now when I get a phone call on my personal phone, it takes up the entire display. So how do we do that? Well, what we need to do is we need to go down to our settings app here, and then we swipe up until we find our phones set. You’re going to see, we have phone here.

When I tap on phone, there is a setting here up at the top. It’s called incoming calls. And right now you can see the set for the banner, which means when I receive a phone call, it’s just going to put a banner across the top. I like to have that in full screen, take over the entire app while all you do is just tap on this and then you go to full screen.

And now when I receive a phone. Instead of just showing a banner. What it is going to do is take up the entire display so I can easily see who it is from there. I can either answer it or decline it. Once I do that, it takes me back to the app. So if you like that old behavior of the iPhone, where when you get a phone call, it took up the entire display.

All you need to do is just go into your settings. Then go to your phone settings and you’re going to see incoming calls by default. It’s going to be set for banner, just tap on that and set it for full screen. So that’s how you can set how you receive incoming calls on the iPhone. You can set it for either a banner or in full screen.
