Did you know you could select and move multiple apps when rearranging the iPad’s Home screen? Need to move more than one app to a folder or to a new Home screen? Select them all and move them together. See how to select and move multiple apps in this video for the iPad.
Video Transcript (video also has closed captions):
In this video, we’re going to look at how it can move multiple apps on the iPad. Let’s go into my iPad.
Now, the first thing we need to do to move multiple apps is we have to go into the jiggly mode. How do we do that? Well, one of the easiest ways to just tap and hold on any one of the apps. I’m going to tap and hold on the TV app here, and then we get to Edit Home screen. When I tap on this, you’re going to see the icons jiggle. This is what we call the jiggly mode.
Now what I can do is I can tap and hold on any one of these, drag it around to move it to a different location. Well, let’s say you wanted to move multiple apps. Well, all you have to do is just move one of the apps that you want to move. So I’m going to go with the Apple TV. I just drag it outside here a little bit and I keep holding onto it. So you can see that I’m still holding onto it. Now, what I do is I tap on the other apps that I want to move along with it. So if I wanted to move the Maps app, I just tap on it. And now we can see, we have two apps there. I want to move the Messages app. Again, I tap on it, and now we can see we have three apps. From here. I can move them around. I just drag them around to where I want to move them. It’s going to move them as a group and I can even move them to another screen. Once I have them where I want, I just let go. And now those apps have been moved. When I’m finished, I tap on done.
So let’s do that again. A tap and hold on it. We have our pop-up menu. I go over to Edit Home screen. We have them in our jiggly mode. Now, all I need to do is just move one of them. I just go down to the Maps app. I move one of them. I tap on the other apps I want to include with it. And now all I have to do is just move these around. Let’s go back over to our first Home screen. I let go, and all of those apps have been moved. Now I just tap on Done.
So that’s how we can move multiple apps on the iPad. We have to go into our edit mode or our jiggly mode tap and hold on any one of the app icons. And then Edit Home screen. From there, we just move one of the apps, and then we tap on the other apps that we want to move along with it. They will move as a group. We can even move them to a new Home screen. Once we are finished, we tap on Done and those apps have been moved.
So that’s how we move multiple apps on the iPad.
