Introduction to Screenshots and Screen Recordings on iPhone

Screenshots and screen recordings are great tools on iPhones. They help us save information, share interesting things, and keep records. iOS 18 has made these tools even better. In this video, I show you how to take screenshots and screen recordings on your iPhone, and how to use them well.

Taking Screenshots

Taking a screenshot on your iPhone is easy:

• For iPhones with Face ID: Press the side button and volume up button at the same time. • For iPhones with a Home button: Press the Home button and side button together.

After you take a screenshot, you’ll see a small image of it in the bottom left corner of your screen. This image will stay there for a short time, then automatically save to your Photos app.

Editing and Sharing Screenshots

After taking a screenshot, you can make it better. Just tap the small picture that appears in the corner of your screen. You’ll see tools to draw, highlight, and add notes to your screenshot. This helps you point out important things or explain what you want to show. It’s also easy to share your screenshot. Just tap the share button to send it by email, text message, or other apps you use.

Capturing Full Web Pages

An exciting feature of Safari and your iPhone is the ability to capture entire web pages in Safari. Instead of limiting yourself to a single screen, you can save the full content of a page. After taking a screenshot, select the “Full Page” tab to view and save the entire webpage. This feature is particularly useful for saving articles or recipes that you wish to refer to later.

Recording Your Screen

For those times when a still image isn’t enough, screen recordings are a perfect solution. To start a recording, swipe down from the upper-right corner of your screen to access the Control Center. Ensure that the screen recording option is available. If not, you can add it by tapping the plus icon in the Control Center settings. Once ready, tap the recording icon to start, capturing everything you do on your screen until you choose to stop the recording.

Organizing and Hiding Screenshots

With the introduction of iOS 18, managing your media has become more efficient. You can now hide your screenshots and screen recordings from your main Photos library. This feature is ideal for those who prefer a clutter-free photo experience. Simply access your library’s view options and uncheck the box to hide screenshots. They won’t appear in your main library but can still be accessed through the media types section.

Conclusion

Screenshots and screen recordings are incredibly useful tools that have been enhanced in iOS 18. Whether you’re capturing your screen, editing images, or saving entire web pages, these features make it easier to manage and share information. By following these simple steps, you’ll be able to utilize your iPhone’s capabilities to their fullest, ensuring that you’re always ready to capture the moment.
