Shortcuts for Editing your Home Screen on the iPad
Learn how to quickly get into the iPad’s jiggly mode to edit your Home Screen.
You most likely know how to edit your Home Screen. Long press on an app icon and select Edit Home Screen, or long press on an app icon until the iPad goes into the jiggly mode, where you can edit your Home Screen. There is a quicker way to get into this mode. Just long press on an area where there is not an app icon. When you do that, the iPad will almost immediately got into the jiggly mode where you can edit your hOme Screen. See how to quickly edit your Home Screen in this video for the iPad.
Video TranscriptIn this video, I’m going to show you a couple of different ways to get into our jiggly mode, where we can edit our Home Screens, or we can edit our apps or remove any apps. We can tap and hold or long press on an app icon, or what we can do is we can long press on an area that is outside of an app icon. Why would we want to use one over top of the other? Well, let’s find out in this short video. Let’s go to my iPad.So, as you most likely know, to edit your Home Screen, such as removing an app or moving them around, what we need to do is go into our jiggly mode. How do we do that? Well, we press and hold or long press on any one of the app icons.
Now, when we do that, we get a menu that pops up. And from here, I can choose to Edit the Home Screen or Remove the App. Well, that’s pretty simple.
Another way is to, let’s go ahead and close this, another way is to just long press on any one of the app icons until we get into that jiggly mode. Again, both of those methods are pretty simple, but with the first method we have to tap and hold and then select a menu where the second method we have to sit there and tap and hold until it jiggles..
Well, there’s an easier way, should I say, quicker way of getting into this jiggly mode, where you can edit your Home Screen. Instead of long pressing or tapping and holding on any one of the app icons, what you’ll want to do as long press on an area where there’s not an app icon. When you long press on that area, the iPad will almost immediately go into that jiggly mode.
So you no longer have to select a menu that pops up or wait until that menu disappears and then get into the jiggly mode. All you have to do to edit your Home Screen is just go down to an area where there is not an app icon and then long press. When you long press on that area, where there is not an app icon, your iPad will almost immediately go into that jiggly mode and you can start editing your Home Screen.
So that’s how you can quickly get into the jiggly mode to edit your Home Screens on the iPad.
