Today I’ll guide you through the new and improved Control Center on your iPad with iPadOS 18. Apple has completely revamped the way we customize and interact with this feature, making it more intuitive and user-friendly. Let’s dive in and explore how you can make the most of these changes.

Accessing and Editing Your Control Center

In previous versions of iPadOS, customizing your Control Center was done through the Settings app. You’d navigate to the Control Center settings and choose which controls to add or remove. However, with iPadOS 18, Apple has streamlined this process, allowing you to edit the Control Center directly from the Control Center itself.

Customizing Your Controls

To access and edit your Control Center, simply swipe down from the upper right-hand corner of your iPad screen. This will reveal your current Control Center setup. Now, if you want to make changes, you have two options: tap the little plus icon or press and hold any part of the Control Center to enter edit mode.

Once you’re in edit mode, you’ll notice that you can easily rearrange controls by dragging them to your preferred location. Want to resize a control? Just drag the little arc in the lower right-hand corner of the control. You can also remove any controls you no longer need by tapping the minus sign.

Adding New Controls

Adding new controls is just as simple. Tap on “Add Control,” and you’ll be presented with a list of available options, including third-party controls. Developers can now add their own controls, providing even more customization options. Just find the control you want, tap on it, and it’s added to your Control Center. You can then move and resize it as needed.

Exploring Multiple Pages

One of the exciting new features in iPadOS 18 is the ability to have multiple pages in your Control Center. This allows you to organize your controls even further. For instance, you can have a page dedicated to your favorite controls, another for music controls, and yet another for connectivity options like Airplane Mode or VPN. While you can’t reorder these pages yet, having them helps keep your Control Center organized and efficient.

As you explore the new Control Center, don’t be surprised if you feel a bit overwhelmed at first. There’s a lot to discover, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll find it incredibly beneficial. Play around with the controls, explore the new options, and make your iPad experience truly yours.
