Learn how to see what is new in apps, as well as delete them from your iPad directly through the App Store.

The App Store is a great way to see what is new in Apps. You’ll want to do this on a regualr basis just to see what developers have added to Apps you own. But it also a great place to see what apps you have that you no longer use, a it is where you can also delete them directly through the App Store. See how to delete your downloaded apps directly through the App Store in this video for the iPad.

Video TranscriptIn this video, I’m going to show you how you can delete apps through the App Store. Basically you can use the App Store to delete apps from your iPad. Now why would, you want to do it this way? Let’s find out. Let’s go to my iPad.

Now what I recommend people doing is taking a look at what’s been updated in various apps on a regular basis. Developers may add some new features that you do not know about. So the best way of doing that is by going to the App Store and seeing what was updated.

So how do we do that? Well, we can just open up the App Store and then we go over to our account here and then we can see what has been updated recently. I’ll show you another way of doing that. I’m going to tap on Done, and we’re going to go back to our Home screen. My favorite way is to tap and hold on the App Store. When I tap and hold on it or long press, we get a menu that pops up and I can go straight to Updates.

So now I’m looking at what apps have been updated. Again, I like doing this because I like to see if a developer has added new features. You’re going to see that Things 3 for iPad. They improved dthe appearance of notifications. They also improve support for promotion displays. You’re going to see with Google Chrome, I can now act on multiple tabs at once. If I wouldn’t have taken a look at these updates, I wouldn’t have known that. So we can see what has been updated with various apps. So I recommend to take a look at this on a regular basis.

Now let’s say you find an app that you no longer want to have on your iPad. You do not use it. As an example, I have here Clips. I don’t use that. I want to remove this. I see it’s in my updates. That it’s been updated, but I really don’t use it.

Well, instead of going back over to the Home screen and finding the app, in this case Clips, what I can do is I can tap and hold or long press on this, and then from here I can delete it. So I tap on Delete. I confirm that I want to delete it. And now that app has been removed. It is no longer on my iPad.

Let’s swipe up. Let’s find another one. I do not use GarageBand. So I do not want this on my iPad. It takes up a lot of space. I no longer want to it, I see that it’s been recently updated. This has reminded me that I have it on my iPad, but I don’t want to have it on my iPad. I tap and hold, and then you’re going to see Delete. I tap on it, I confirm that I want to delete it, and now it is no longer on my iPad.

So that’s how we can easily remove apps from the app store and why we may want to do that. Again, what I recommend doing is just taking a look at what’s been updated in various apps. Sometimes the developers will add new features and this is a great way to find out if they did and what those new features are. But also what you may see is some apps that you forgot about that you no longer use that you want to remove. Well, instead of going to the Home screen to remove it, what you can do now is delete it directly from the App Store. Just tap and hold on that app, you’re going to see a menu that pops up, and from there, you can delete it from your iPad.

So that’s how you can remove or delete apps from the App Store or through the App Store and why you may want to, on the iPad.
