Add Captions to Photos and Videos
Learn how to add captions to your photos and videos in the Photos app on the iPhone.
Apple added the ability to now add captions to your Photos and videos on the iPhone. This is done through the Photos app. In past versions of iOS, you could not add a caption, you had to do this through the Photos app on the Mac. Now in iOS 14, you can easily add a caption by swiping up on the photo or video while in the Photos app. See how this works in this video on adding captions to photos and videos in the Photos app on the iPhone.
Video Transcript (video also has closed captions):
In this video, we’re going to look at how we can add captions or descriptions to photos in the Photos app on the iPhone. This is a new feature that Apple added with iOS 14. Let’s go to my iPhone.
Now in past versions of iOS, the only way that you could add a caption or a description to a photo was through the Mac app. We couldn’t do it on our iPhone, and we couldn’t do it on our iPad. Well, now, with iOS 14, we can actually add a description to a photo or a video.
How do we do that? Well, it’s pretty simple. All we have to do is just open up our Photos app. We go over to the photo that we want to caption. So let’s go to this photo here. These are of some chicken wings that we grilled when we were camping. I tap on it. And now all I need to do is just swipe up, and you’re going to see Add a Caption. I tap on it, and then I just type in what I want to say. So let’s just go Mmmmm, because they were pretty good. Now I tap on done in the upper right-hand corner, and we have our caption.
This caption will sync with all of my other devices. Now, if I go to my iPad and look at this photo, I swipe up, I’m going to see that caption. I go to my Mac; I get info on a photo while in the Photos app, I will see that caption. This works with both photos and videos.
So that’s how we add captions to photos and videos on the iPhone. All we have to do is just open up that photo or video and the Photos app; we just swipe up, and you’re going to see Add a Caption. Tap on that, and you’re going to be able to add a caption.
So that’s how we add captions to our photos and videos in the Photos app on the iPhone.
