Video Transcript (video also has closed captions):
In this video, we’re going to look at how we can filter our photos and videos in the Photos app on the Mac. When I’m talking about filtering, I’m not talking about applying filters; I’m talking about viewing all of your favorite photos within a specific album. You’re filtering your photos within a specific album. Let’s see how we do this. Let’s go to my Mac.
Now, if we look in the upper right-hand corner, you’re going to see Showing All Items. This is our filter. When I click on it, what I’m able to do is to filter by Favorites, Edited, Photos, or Videos, or even any keywords I’ve applied.
So, as an example, let’s say I’m looking at my Favorites here. What I want to do is see my Favorites that have been edited, or I want to see my favorites that are only photos. So how do I do that? We go over to our filtering. So now I go back over to the right. I have Showing All Items. I want to view just my edited favorites, click on it and click on Edited. And now I can see just my Edited Favorites. I want to see only my photos in favorites. I de-select Edited here, and I go over to Photos, and I’m filtering my photos. So now I’m looking at only my photos that are favorited, and we can apply multiple filters. So I want to see my favorite edited photos, click on Edited. And these are my favorite photos that are edited. We can do this from within an album. I’m going to go back to all items.
Let’s take a look at an album here. 2020 Photos. I want to view all of my favorites within this album. I go over to Showing All Items, and I apply the Favorites filter. These are all my favorite photos and videos. I want to see only the videos; I click on Videos. These are my only favorite videos within my 2020 photos.
So that’s how we filter our photos and videos on the Mac. All we have to do is select our album that we want to look at. And then, from there, what we’re able to do is filter that down further. We can view all of our favorites within that album. We can view all of our edited photos or all of our edited videos. We can apply multiple filters. You’ll find the filters in the upper right-hand corner of the Photos app.
So that’s how we filter our photos and videos in the Photos app on the Mac.
