Video Transcript (video also has closed captions):
In this video, we’re going to look at our photo grid view we have available to us Tap Forms 5. Let’s go to my Mac.
So I’m looking at my albums here. These are all the albums that I’ve purchased. We can see in our column view, we have the name of the album, when it was released, as well as the artist. What I like to do is I like to view them by the album artwork, as opposed to the name, the date it was released, and the artist. So what I would like to do instead of having the name of the album, the date and the artists, I’d rather have the album artwork there. So how do we do that?
Well, the first thing you need to do is you need to make sure that you have a field with an image, a picture. So I have my album cover here. When I go over to my form, and then we go over to Album Cover, we can see that it is a photo. We do need to have a field type of Photo. Once we do that, we can tell Tap Forms 5 to use that field for our column view. So how do we do that? All we have to do, let’s go ahead and close this farm, all we have to do is just go over to the top here, where we have our photo grid view, I click on it to select it, and then in our column view, we can see we have our album artwork. That’s all we have to do to show our records as a photo grid view.
We can resize these thumbnails. We just go up to the top and you’re going to see a slider here. I just drag this to the left or right to resize it. When I do make them smaller, it is going to include more of the records in each section. So this section here, Elton John, these are all the albums I have of Elton John. If I want to hide the sections, I just go up under the icon here and I click on Hide Sections. Select it, and now they are no longer categorized.
I want to make the album artwork larger. Again, I just drag the slider over to the right and I can make it larger. Let’s go ahead and add my sections in here. Show Sections, and now they’re grouped by artist again.
How did I create the section? Well, all you have to do is just go over to Form here, and then you have to tell Tap Forms 5 which record you want to section or categorize them by. To do that you go over to Form here, and then you’re going to see Group Records By. And I have it selected as artists. So that is why it is grouping them by artist here.
So that’s our photo grid view we have available to us in Tap Forms 5. We do need to have a field that is a photo. When we do that, if we go up to the toolbar and select on Photo Grid View, we’re able to view our columns by photo. We can resize the thumbnails by going up to the slider at the top.
So that’s a look at our photo grid view we have in Tap Forms 5.
