Mute the iPad’s Volume in a Zoom Meeting
Learn how to Mute the Volume in a Zoom Meeting on the iPad.
Have you ever been in a zoom meeting, and you wanna turn the volume down? You find out that you can’t? You can turn the volume down, but you can’t turn it all the way off. You can’t mute it. So how can you mute or turn the volume all the way off in a Zoom meeting on the iPad? You basically just have to turn your audio off in Zoom. It’s pretty simple. I’ll show you how in this video for Zoom on the iPad.
Video TranscriptionIn this video, we’re going to look at how we can mute the volume. While we’re in a Zoom meeting on the iPad, you may have noticed that when you’re in a Zoom meeting on the iPad, you can’t mute the volume, you can turn it down, but you can’t turn it all the way off. So how can we mute the volume? Well, let’s find out. Let’s go to my iPad. So I’m in a Zoom meeting here. And if I wanted to turn the volume down, so I don’t hear anyone that’s in that meeting, what I would basically do is just go over to the volume buttons here, and then I just turn them down.

But when we’re in a Zoom meeting, we can only turn it down to about 20%. We can’t turn that volume all the way off. So how can we mute that volume? Well, basically, what we need to do is we need to disconnect the audio, it’s pretty simple to do, all we have to do is just go up to more in the upper right hand corner here. And then you’re going to see disconnect audio. When I select this, what it does is it disconnects the audio. So now that volume is no longer playing, I will not be able to hear anyone in that meeting. But now let’s say I wanted to hear everyone in the meeting again, who all we have to do is just go and join that audio again.

So I click on this. And then I go over to Wi Fi. That’s typically how most people will join meetings through Wi Fi. And now I’ll be able to hear everyone and that means that again, I can use these volume controls here. To control the volume, I need to mute it again, I just go back over to more. And then I disconnect the audio. So that’s how we can mute the volume. When we’re in a Zoom meeting on the iPad. Basically what we need to do is we just need to disconnect the audio. It’s pretty simple. We just go under the More button the three dots in the upper right hand corner and tap on disconnect audio. When you’re ready to connect back up or hear everyone again, all you have to do is just go and join the audio. Again. You don’t have to leave the meeting you just disconnect the audio.
