Collapse your Pinned Notes
Learn how to collapse your pinned notes in the Notes app on the iPhone.
With iOS 14, Apple made a small redesign to the Notes App, but even more than that, they added a nice new feature – you can now collapse your pinned notes. You’ll welcome this if you have a lot of pinned notes, and you need to get at your other notes. Now you can just collapse or hide your pinned notes to view all of your other notes. See how to collapse your pinned notes in this lesson for the Notes app on the iPhone.
Video Transcript (video also has closed captions):
In this video, we’re going to look at pinned notes in the Notes app on the iPhone. Apple redesigned this with iOS 14 and added the option to collapse all of our pinned notes. Let’s take a look at these pinned notes in the Notes app. Let’s go to my iPhone.
Let’s go and open up my Notes app. I swipe over to the left, and we’re looking at my Notes app. Now, if you’re not familiar with Notes, what we can do is we can pin notes. Any pinned note is going to be at the top of all of your different notes here. This is nothing new with iOS 14. To pin a note, I just swipe up; I find the note I want to pin; let’s go with this camera tip here. I want to pin this. All I have to do is just swipe this over to the right. And now it just pinned that to the top here.
My pined notes will always be at the top of my list. To unpin a note, let’s go with groceries here; I no longer want to have that pinned. All I do is just swipe over to the right, and it unpins it.
So, what did they change with iOS 14? Well, it’s a simple change, but it really can clean up your notes. If you have a lot of pinned notes, this list is going to get quite long here. Well, now what you can do with your pinned notes here is collapsed them. I go over to the right; you’re going to see we have this little arrow here. I tap on it, and it collapses them. So now I can no longer see all of my pinned notes. So this makes it easy to hide your pinned notes, to go through all of your other notes. To show your pinned notes, again, you tap on this, and now we can see my pinned notes. Again, it’s a simple change, but it’s also a welcome change, particularly if you have a lot of pinned notes.
So that’s what’s new with our pinned notes and the Notes app. We had a slight redesign, but more importantly, is they added a new feature – we can now collapse our pinned notes. To collapse them, you just go over to the right of where it says Pin, you’ll see an arrow, tap on that, and it’ll collapse those notes. Tap on it again to show all of your pinned notes.
So that’s how we can now collapse our pinned notes in the Notes app on the iPhone.
