Video TranscriptionIn this video, we’re going to look at how we can present our presentation over the internet with Keynote Live. Basically, what you’ll do is you’ll create a link, and then anyone with that link will be able to view your presentation when you give it. All they need is a browser, or if they have Keynote, they can do this from within Keynote. Let’s see how this is done. Let’s go to my Mac. So I’m done with my presentation here. And now what I’d like to do is share this presentation, I want to present it. But the way that I want to present it is through the internet. I’d like people that have a link that I give them be able to click on that link. And then when I give the presentation at any specific time, they’ll be able to watch it like they were right there in the same room.
0:48
The way that we do that is we go up to share in our menu bar. And then you’re going to see us Keynote Live. Keynote Live is how we share our presentation through the internet. So I select this, we have a window that pops up explaining what’s going to happen, we just click on Continue. Takes a few minutes. But basically it’s going to prepare this for Keynote Live, it’s going to prepare for sharing on the internet. Now the way that it does this is through iCloud. So you do need to have an iCloud account in order for this to work. So now my slideshow is ready. The next thing I need to do is I need to invite people to view this presentation when I give it I can click on invite viewers here and select any way to share that link, I can copy the link here.
1:37
And then I could send it in an email or send a via messages, however I want to share it, I can also go under more options here and copy the link here. And then if I want to make it password protected, I can also require a password. So the only way that people will be able to view it is if they have this link here. And they have the password, I’m just going to leave it open here. So now it is all set, I have the link copied, all I need to do now is either just click Play now, or play later. So I’m just going to click on play later. So we’re going to play the slider that says schedule this, I have to send out the invitation before I start playing it.
2:18
If I were to start playing it now, no one has that invitation yet. So we really don’t want to do that. It is a live presentation. This isn’t a recorded presentation. So they’re not going to be able to watch the presentation whenever they want. They’re going to be able to watch the presentation when you give the presentation. So I don’t want to click Play now yet, what I’m going to do is click on play later. So then it’s ready to play at a specific time. So I’m going to click on this, it is now ready to play. When I go up to play here, you’re gonna see has a blue icon. If I want to play this, I click on this. And then I can play it on this Mac. I can also play it on Keynote Live, which is what we’re going to do. And then I can play the recorded slideshow. I did record this as well with a narration. I talked about that in another lesson.
3:08
So now all I need to do is just click on play live. But before I do that, let’s go and send this invitation out and see how this looks when you’re coming from a different device. I have an iPad here, I’m going to send that link over to that iPad. So let’s go over to my iPad as well as my Mac here. So there’s my iPad, I have the link in that iPad. So now what I need to do is open up Safari, and then go to that link. So I’m going to go over to Safari here. And then I just paste the Lincoln up here. I did delete Keynote off of this iPad, if I had Keynote on here would open up in Keynote. But I wanted to show you how this works even through a standard browser, you do not have to have Keynote, anyone that is on the internet with a standard browser will be able to view this presentation. So now all I do is just paste this in here.
3:59
There is my link. And then I just hit return. And we can see it says Welcome to Keynote Live. So this is what the participant is going to see. Now I haven’t started the presentation yet. So that’s why it’s just sitting here blue. Let’s go and start that presentation on my MacBook Air. Now before I play this, I need to make sure that I select the first slot otherwise, it’s going to start from the slide here. So we’re going to go to the first slide. Now we go back up under play here. And I’m going to click on Play Keynote Live. When I do this, what’s going to happen is it’s going to start playing on the iPad, because the iPad is a participant. So let’s go ahead and select Play on Keynote Live.
4:45
It’s starting the slideshow. This does take a few minutes to start. But then once it starts you’re going to see that that first slide is going to be on my iPad. And then as I advance through the presentation, it will also advanced on the iPad. So we can see them both on my Mac and my iPad here, I’m going to go to the next slide, a tap on the spacebar. I’m doing this on the Mac. When I do that, we can see that the iPad is following me. So anyone with that link, if I were to send this out to any one of my members, this is a live presentation, it is not timed, so they can’t watch it whenever they want.
5:25
They do have to be there when I give the presentation. Again, I’m going to hit the spacebar. When I do that, that iPad will also show that it goes to the next slide. So now I can bring in these bullet points. And again, anyone watching this presentation will be able to view it. Now if you want to stop sharing it, I’m going to hit Escape here, we’re just going to go back over to my Mac. I’m going to go back over to the Mac here. To stop sharing it, what we do is we go back up under share here. And then what we do is we go over to our Keynote Live settings.
6:01
From here, what I’m able to do is turn off Keynote Live, if I want to add a password, I can also go and add a password to it. And if I want to invite more people, I can also do that as well. So I’m just going to turn off Keynote Live. And when we go back over to my iPad, you’re going to see that that slideshow is no longer available. So that’s how we share our presentation through the internet with Keynote Live. Basically, what we need to do is we just need to go up to share in the menu bar and select Keynote Live share via Keynote Live. Once we turn that on, we’re going to get a link. We just share that link. And then when you give your presentation anyone that uses that link will be able to view your presentation with you. It is a live presentation. You do have the option to add a password to it. So that’s how we share Keynote presentation over the internet with Keynote Live.
