Don’t Leave Your iCloud Digital Life Behind: Set Up a Legacy Contact!

After you pass away, your digital life remains. Photos, messages, notes – your memories persist in your Apple account. With Legacy Contact, you can choose someone you trust to gain access to this data and manage your account. It could be a family member, close friend, or anyone you wish. They don’t need an Apple device or ID.

Once designated, your Legacy Contact can request access to your account after verifying information with Apple through a death certificate. Approved requests allow access to iCloud data like photos, messages, mail, contacts, and more.

Your Legacy Contact will receive a special Apple ID to access your approved account information. Your original credentials will no longer work and your devices are also unlocked. Access lasts for 3 years before permanent account deletion.

Empower those closest to you to celebrate your life through your memories. Name a Legacy Contact to thoughtfully manage your digital legacy.
