Video TranscriptionIn this video, we’re going to look at how we can erase and remove devices from our iCloud account that we no longer have. Let’s say you have an old iPhone or an old Mac, it’s still connected to your iCloud account. How do you remove that from your iCloud account, since you no longer have it, we’re going to see how we can do this on the Mac, iPad, iPhone. And even with icloud.com. Let’s first look at it on the Mac. So I’m looking at my Mac here. And if I wanted to erase the device or even see where one of my devices are, and remove it from my iCloud account, what I do is I go over to my find my app.

So I have my Applications folder here located in my dock, I click on it. And then what we do is we go over to find my when I select this, we have a number of tabs in the upper left hand corner. The tab that we want to look at is devices. From here we can see all of the different devices that are connected to our iCloud account. If I were to click on any one of these, what I’d be able to do is see where that device is located. If I select one, you’re going to see I have this Mac here, I no longer have this Mac, if I select it, what I’m able to do is remove it from my iCloud account, I can also erase it, or even send a notification, all I have to do is just go over to the right here where we have this little eye, I tap on the eye here. And then from here, what I’m able to do is play sound through it, I can also get directions to it. And then we also have our notifications, I can send a notification, I can mark it as lost, what Mark has lost will do is it’ll lock the device in this case, it’ll lock my Mac, so no one can get at the Mac. And then if I want to erase it, I can erase it.

And if I no longer have it, which is what we’re going to do, what I’m able to do is remove the device. So we have a number of different options here. Let’s go ahead and remove this, all I have to do is just select it. And then I click on Remove here. When I do that, it’s going to ask for my password. So I type in my password. And now what it’ll do is it’ll remove that device, it is no longer in my iCloud account. Let’s see how we do this on the iPad and iPhone. I’m going to go to my iPad and iPhone here. When we’re looking at my iPad, what we need to do is we need to go to our Find my app. Again, what we do is we go over to devices here. And then when we’re looking at all of our devices, you can see all of the different devices I have here. I select one, let’s go with this iPhone here. I select it. And then we can see we can play our sound, we can get directions to it, I can send a notification, I can mark it as last just like I can on the Mac. And then I can erase the device and remove the device. So just follow the same steps.

As you can imagine it works very similar on the iPhone. When I go to my iPhone, what I need to do is go to my find my app. And then down at the bottom we have our devices we need to go to our devices, we can see all of my different devices here. I select one, let’s go ahead and select this one here. And then I just pull up this card here. And what I’m able to do is play a sound get directions to it, send a notification, I can mark it as loss to lock it. And then I can also erase the device and remove the device. Now let’s say you no longer have an Apple device, you want to remove it from your iCloud account. Well, you can do that through any browser. I’m going to go back over to my Mac. And now let’s go and close this. We’re going to go to Safari here, we just have to open up any browser and then we go to icloud.com. So you can see I’m looking@icloud.com I am logged in to my account. Now what I do is I go over to find iPhone. This is what find my used to be called Find iPhone. So I select this. And then all I have to do once I type in my password here

all I have to do is just select my device, we can see we have all of my devices up here. I just selected, we go to the device I want to remove. Let’s go with this Mac here.
