Learn how to Close Multiple Tabs and keep One Tab Open in Safari on the iPad

If you have multiple tabs open in Safari on the iPad, you can close all the other tabs while keeping the one tab you are on open. This is a great way to close all your tabs while keeping the one tab or website you are on open. See hwo to close all your other open tabs in this video for Safari on the iPad.

Video TranscriptIn this video, I’m going to show you how you can close multiple tabs in Safari on the iPad. Let’s say you had a number of tabs open. You only want to have one tab, you only want to have one website open. So you want to close all of the other tabs. Well we can easily do this with Safari on the iPad. Let’s see how. Let’s go to my iPad.

So I am in Safari here, and if we look across the top, you’re going to see I have a number of different websites open, I have a number of different tabs. Let’s go over to the New York Times, and let’s say I wanted to just read the New York Times. But in addition to that, what I would also like to do is close all of my other tabs. I only want to have the New York Times open. How can we do that? Well, it’s pretty easy.

All we need to do is just tap and hold on the tab we want to keep open. So in my case here I tap and hold on the New York Times. When I tap and hold on it, you’re going to see an option to where I can Close Other Tabs. What this will do when I select this is keep open my New York Times tab, but close all of the other tabs in Safari.

So let’s go ahead and do that. I select it, and now we can see it closed all of my other tabs, all of my other open tabs. And the only website that I have open, the only tab that I have open now is the New York Times.

So if you have a lot of different tabs open and you just want to start over, just go to the website that you want to keep open and then tap and hold on that tab, that website’s tab and select Close Other Tabs.

So that’s how you can close multiple tabs in Safari on the iPad.
