Organize your Apple Watch Apps when in Grid View
Learn how to organize your Apps on the Apple Watch when viewing them in Grid View.
When you are viewing all your apps on the Apple Watch, by default they are in a grid view. What you can do, when viewing them in this view, is rearrange them. You can do this on the Apple Watch or in the Watch app on the iPhone, the latter being my recommended way to organize your apps. See how and why you would want to organize your apps when viewing them in the Grid view in this video for the Apple Watch.
Video TranscriptionNow, in order to see all of our apps, what we need to do is press in on the digital crown, when we’re looking at a watch face, so I have a watch face here showing. So when I present on the digital crown, what I can see are all of my apps. Now by default, these apps are in the grid view, this is the grid view, what I can do is just swipe around on the space here.
And I can see all the different apps that are available to me, I can also go to the digital crown. And if I scroll this up and down, so we can zoom in and out there using the digital crown. Now what it does is it zooms in to the center of the grid there. So if I were to zoom in right now, what it would do is it would open up the clock. So as you zoom around here, and then zoom in and out, you can open up different apps, but probably the easiest way is to just tap on it.
Now, what you can do is you can rearrange how these apps are shown and the grid, you can move them around. Why would you want to do that? Well, as I mentioned, by default, I’m going to close this year. And then I’m going to press in on the digital crown. Again, what it does is it centers around the center app here of the clock, what you may want to do is move your apps around so they’re easily accessible.
How do you arrange this grid, what we need to do is tap and hold on the display here, when I tap and hold on the display, what I’m able to do is switch my view, to lidless view, this is my favorite view. But in this video, we’re talking about the grid view. When I go down to Edit apps, what I can do is rearrange these apps, so you’re gonna see that they’re jiggling. Now, what I can do is just take any one of these and move it around, I can swipe around to find my different apps. And then all I have to do is just tap and hold and I can drag it wherever I want. Once I am done, I just press in on the digital crown again.
And it saves those changes. So that’s one way of doing it. But it’s pretty cumbersome, especially when you’re on an Apple watch, it’s a lot easier. If you like this grid view, it’s a lot easier to rearrange these apps in the Watch app on the iPhone. Let’s go over to the watch app on my iPhone to see how we do this. If you like the grid view, it’s a lot easier to do and the watch app. So let’s go over to my iPhone. So I’m in my watch app on my iPhone. From here, what we need to do is make sure that we’re looking at my watch, this is all the settings, these are all the settings for your Apple Watch. And then we go over to app view when I tap on app view, what I can do is I can switch between my two different views ListView and GridView. Since we’re talking about grid view, and how we can rearrange them, we want to make sure that grid view is selected. And then you go down to arrangement.
And from here, we can see all of our different apps, I want to rearrange these, how do I do that, all you have to do is just tap and hold on any one of them to pick it up and drag it where you want. So I have my tesi app here. This is for my car, what I’d like to do is move it more towards the center here. So I have easy access to remember, when we look at it on the Apple Watch zooms into this area here. So I need to move this app closer to the center here. To do that, all I have to do is just tap and hold on.
We can see it picked it up. And I just dragged us where I want. So let’s say I wanted to have the news app more towards the center. Again, I just tap and hold down and drag it where I want. Once I am done, all I have to do is just go back over to app view. All the changes are saved. Now if I go back over to my Apple Watch, let’s go back over to my Apple watch. And we press in on the digital crown to view all of my apps. Remember I put tosee towards the center? Well, if we look, we can see that Tesla is right here. And I have my news app right there.
So that’s how we can arrange our apps. When we’re using the grid view for all of our apps on the Apple Watch. We can do this on the Apple Watch itself. Or we can do it in the Watch app on the iPhone. I find it much easier to use the Apple Watch app or the watch app on the iPhone, but you can do it on either device. Well
You’ll want to do is move your apps more towards the center the apps that you like to use more towards the center so then you have easy access to them. So that’s how we rearrange our apps when we’re using the grid view on the Apple Watch
