Control your Apple TV from your iPad and iPhone

In this video, we’re going to look at how we can control our apple TV from our iPad or iPhone, we basically need to add the Apple TV Control to our control center. Let’s see how we do this, we’re first going to look at this on my iPad. Let’s go to my iPad. Now in order to control the Apple TV from your iPad, what we need to do is going to add our control our apple TV Control to our control center here. If we look at my control center down towards the bottom, we have these various controls, we can customize these controls here, including adding the Apple TV remote control.

How do we do that? Well, basically, what we need to do is go over to our settings app here. And then we go over to control center. When we select Control Center, we have a couple of different options. Here, I have included controls, these are the controls that are included in my control center. And then we also have more controls. So what we need to do is we need to make sure that we have our apple TV Control added to our included controls. So I tap on the plus here. And now we can see we have my Apple TV remote, let’s go ahead and move this up towards the top. So I just go over to the right here we have these three lines, I just drag these up and place it towards the top.

Now when I go to my control center, I’m going to swipe down from the very top here, the top right, I swipe down, you’re gonna see I have a new control here. And it is the Apple TV Control. So now I just tap on this, we select which Apple TV we want to connect to, I only have one Apple TV, so it goes to my living room. And then from here, what I’m able to do is tap on any one of these buttons to control my Apple TV. Now let’s see how this works on the iPhone, you can imagine it works basically the same way. So let’s go over to my iPhone. And again, when I swipe down from the upper right hand corner, I have my control center, what I want to do is add my Apple TV control to the bottom here.

So again, I go over to my settings app. And then what we need to do is make sure that we go to our control center. From here, just like with the iPad, I have included controls, these are the controls that are included in the control center. And then I also have more controls. So now what I need to do is I just need to add my Apple TV remote, so I’m gonna tap on the green plus. And again, I’m going to move this up towards the top, I lose my remote quite a bit. With the Apple TV, it’s pretty easy to lose. So now, with this up towards the top, all I need to do is just swipe down to get to my control center, I can be in any app, I just swipe down to go to the control center. And at the very top here, the very first one is my Apple TV Control A tap on again, I can control my Apple TV. So that’s how we can control our apple tv with our iPad and iPhone. Basically what we need to do is add the Apple TV Control to our control center. We can do this in the Settings app. You just open up the settings app, go to Control Center and make sure that the Apple TV Control is included in your included controls. So that’s how we can control our apple TV from our iPad and iPhone.
