Apple launches COVID-19 Screening Site and iOS app

Apple recently launched a COVID-19 screening site and iPhone app to help you determine if you should get tested. These new tools also include various resources to learn more about COVID-19 and what you can do. Apple partnered with the CDC, the White House Coronavirus Task Force, and FEMA on this initiative.

These new tools use a Q&A format to help a user determine risk factors, if they’ve had recent exposure to COVID-19, and symptoms. It also offers CDC recommendations including guidance and monitoring steps. It also recommends if a test is recommended and when to contact medical providers.

Apple state that this screening tool does not replace instructions from healthcare providers or guidance from state and local health authorities.

These screening tools can be used by anyone who is 18 years or older in the United States. Apple also states that any data provided is private, and the website or app will not be shared with Apple, the CDC, or anyone without explicit permission.

You can read more about the website and app from Apple’s Press release.
